About Me
“I tell stories of resilience and beauty, not in the traditional way, but the human way.”
Working in the medical field for over 20 years, I have encountered many forms of life, hope, and resiliency. Macro-photography was a natural choice for me since I spent the first part of my career studying cellular proliferation, cellular suicide and death in cancer cells that involved extensive use of ultra-hyper macro-photography with microscopes.
My art focuses on the meaning of flowers and how they parallel states of human life ranging from the beauty of youth and vitality to topics often less discussed such as the transformation of beauty during the flower's entire life cycle including the aging and dying stages.
I create experiences through my photography. These flowers are the story of people I know and the stories of people that were lost along the way. They are symbols of the human condition and expressions of visible and invisible health challenges we encounter going through life.
